Substation Entry Course

This one-day training course is for anyone wishing to gain access or to carry out non-electrical work in electrical substations. The course will discuss the potential hazards of working in substations and identify the required measures to keep people safe. 

By the end of this course attendees will understand

• The hazards of electricity and how danger may arise

• The required Health and Safety legislation

• The obligations placed on the employee



• Authorisation and competency levels

• Appreciation of network system and plant identification

• Fault levels - consequences of plant failure

• Identification of substation hazards and risks

• Access into HV operational areas
